My view in Iceland (hopefully…)

I’m expecting 2024 to be the most important year in June First’s existence. There has been a lot of growth the past few years, but the next level is upon us. I must say that we’ve definitely had a great start with both the Iowa Derecho and Canton Tornado Docs, but here in March we’ve got some big items cooking.

I depart for Iceland this Saturday. Not only will it be an amazing personal experience, but there is also some incredible stories when it comes to Mother Nature on that island nation. It is too good to pass up an opportunity like this to tell some interesting stories for docs later this year.

While Iceland alone is exciting, I am also in the middle of one of our biggest projects yet. This doc for the channel is one of the most important weather events in United States history. Iceland is putting a small pause on production, but it will most definitely be out come the end of the month/beginning of April. I’ll put it this way; it HAS to be out at the beginning of April (wink wink).

Preceding this doc will be the final installment of TO HUNT A STORM Season 2 on the channel. I’m really stoked to share this last part since it really rounded off the 2023 chase trip on such a poetic note. Mother Nature can write a great script.

On top of ALL THAT… there is also some behind the scenes work to prep for this next evolution of June First. This blog is honestly one of those things. Hopefully this gives some transparency to what is happening with this company. Piece by piece is becoming more serious, something that I could of only dreamed of when I first started it in 2018.

OH, and how could I forget the upcoming eclipse in April?? We’ll be there for that too and will definitely make a great little movie about it.
